Every user of batteries in the EC is legally obligated to dispose of these batteries at a collection site in his/her community or at the dealer selling the batteries. The batteries are then properly disposed of so as not to damage the environment.

Batteries containing harmful materials are identifi ed by this symbol and by chemical symbols (Cd =Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead).
